About Gujarat Legal Education Project (GLEP)

Recognizing the potential of GNLU, it has been designated as nodal agency under the Gujarat Legal Education Programme (GLEP) for extending maximum possible assistance to all colleges in Gujarat for enhancing legal education. Under the Programme, GNLU has received generous support from Higher Education Department, Govt. of Gujarat to conduct various activities under the said project. Some of the prominent activities are listed as under:

  • Gujarat Law Colleges' Seminars/Conferences

    From time to time, GNLU organizes seminars/conferences on various contemporary issues where law faculties and law students from the State, actively participate. Such knowledge dissemination helps in shaping legal education according to the needs of highly advanced, global society.

  • Gujarat Law Colleges principals' meet

    GNLU organizes meetings with law colleges' principals' around the State, to discuss various issues such as common syllabus, pedagogy, publications strategy to enhance the legal education in Gujarat.

  • Publications

    In order to shape legal education and gather various ideas on furtherance of legal education, GNLU publishes a biannual journal titled Gujarat Law Journal (GLJ). Gujarat Law Journal (GLJ) is a peer-reviewed ISSN serial journal published by the university, with the intention of providing for a unique arena for making significant scholastic contributions in the field of contemporary legal issues.

  • Student Exchange Programme

    Under this Programme, students are selected from different law colleges in the State. They spend a week on the GNLU campus and attend classes on various subjects in order to witness and understand the GNLU pedagogy.

  • Faculty Exchange Programme

    Under this Programme, law faculties from educational institutes in the State are welcomed to the University and in-house faculty conduct sessions on varied subjects as requested by the attendees.

  • MDS University, Ajmer LIS faculty and Students GNLU Visit
  • on 13th March, 2019 Sixteen LIS students and three faculty members from MDS University, Ajmer visited GNLU campus and GNLU library. These students and faculty were so impressed with the library collections and GNLU campus. After the visit an interactive session (Panel discussion) was organised with them. In this session GNLU students as a library users have shared their best ideas, views, experience on library, and library resources.

    Lunch was hosted by GNLU library for them.
