GNLU Internal Committees

Important Note:

• The Committees constituted herein shall function in accordance with the provisions of the Gujarat National Law University Act, the Regulations, and other applicable rules, policies and guidelines of the University, as amended from time to time.
• The tenure and composition of all Committees, comprising the Convenor and Members, shall be two (02) years, commencing from 01 July 2026 and ending on 30 June 2028, unless reconstituted, modified or superseded earlier by any subsequent University office order issued with the approval of the Competent Authority.
• The Convenor of each Committee shall convene meetings of the respective Committee as and when required for the effective discharge of its functions. The Committees may, wherever considered necessary, co-opt external experts or invite any faculty member, officer, staff member or other stakeholder as a Special Invitee for deliberation on specific agenda items, with the prior approval of the Director and duly noted in the proceedings.
• Each Committee shall maintain proper records of its proceedings, including the agenda, minutes of meetings and recommendations. The agenda, proceedings and minutes of each meeting, together with the recommendations of the Committee, shall be submitted for consideration and approval of the Director, through the Head, Academic Affairs and the Registrar. Upon receipt of any observations, directions and/or approval issued by the Director, the Office of the Registrar shall communicate the same to the Convenor of the respective Committee and initiate such consequential action as may be required. The Office of the Registrar shall further ensure that a copy of the approved minutes is also retained as part of the official records of the University.
• For the efficient and continued functioning of the Committees, the existing Convenors are requested to ensure the proper handing over of all records, files, documents, correspondence, and minutes of previous Committee meetings in their possession to the respective newly appointed Convenors. They are further requested to ensure that copies of all approved minutes of previous Committee meetings are also made available to the Office of the Registrar for institutional record and future reference.
