The present Course is developed with an assumption that there are several important aspects of legal theories and philosophy in ancient India that may throw light on many of the confusions that exist in contemporary times, and those insights obtained could be helpful for adopting solutions to some of the pressing problems faced in the modern age. Moreover, the present legal system can benefit from the lessons from ancient India for building and sustaining a prosperous nation.
To develop a comprehensive understanding of the past so that these issues can be further studied to improve the present legal system.
To understand its use and application for further research for the students interested in the subject.
To prepare the young generation of India and dismantle the myths propagated by Western thought and culture.
To clarify the misunderstandings arising from the Mischief of Orientalism.
To learn about our culture and heritage by appreciating what our Sages had passed on to future citizens.
Any student pursuing graduation from any recognised University or any student holding a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any discipline from any recognized University, working professionals etc shall be eligible for enrolment in the course.
