Education is central to development and a key to attaining the development goals, with higher education playing a vital role. It is one of the most powerful instruments for reducing poverty and inequality and can lay a foundation for sustained economic growth. The higher education system has constantly and will keep changing with time but without any change in the three main pillars viz., Students, Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff. The administration of any institution is like the foundation of a building which otherwise is not visible but without which any strong building cannot withstand. The administration of the University ensures that all the concerned stakeholders are provided with the best conducive environment to enable them not only to grow individually but in turn help build the University at large.

Dr. Mathew has been serving this University sinceits inception i.e. year 2004. Before joining GNLU, has worked in reputed institutions like St. Xavier's College, Ahmedabad, India. He has experience in designing and conducting courses related to Science and Technology and networking and coordination with various experts, governmental agencies and academic/research institutions in India.

Dr. Mathew has 16 published papers as sole/joint authorin journal/book, 3 joint edited books,part of 2 projects and 1 project as Principal Investigator to the credit. He has also reviewed paper(s) in international journals. He has also attended/participated in the UGC Refresher/Orientation Course apart from the conferences/seminars/symposiums/workshops organized by other institutions/organizations and also organized by GNLU.

Dr. Mathew has delivered lectures at National/International institutions apart from being the Resource Person in workshop(s).

Dr. Mathew was part of the Committee constituted by the Government of Gujarat for framing the regulations under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection) Act, 2015.

Dr. Mathew is life member of 9 societies and associate fellow of one academy apart from being the DAAD fellow and recipient of the "Excellent Faculty Award for the year 2010-2011 at Gujarat National Law University".
