Mr. Arinjay Vyas of 2011 Batch has been adjudged the winner of the Sardar Patel Annual Leadership Award, 2015 held at Gujarat Vidyapith, Ahmedabad from 5th-13th December, 2015.
The competition consisted of 3 rounds - prelims, semi final and final to select a national winner. This was a national speech, debate and elocution competition named "Leaders of India" where-the participants - had to deliver- a speech on "My favourite national hero" followed by a debate and an elocution on "The need for proper education".
As a winner he was presented with the Sardar Patel Leadership rotating trophy, a certificate of merit and cash prize of ?11,000.
Madhulika Srikumar (2011 batch) wrote a case study on “The National Advisory Council Model: When the Civil Society was Heard in Policymaking in India” for a competition at Berkman Centre for Internet and Society at Harvard University. Her essay was awarded second place in the Student Case Study Writing Competition on Innovative Multistakeholder Governance Groups. She has been awarded a stipend of $3,000.
GNLU team comprising of Mr. Tirth Bhatt and Mr. Garv Malhotra, of the 2010-2015 batch were adjudged as runners up at the 1st NLU Delhi-Herbert Smith Freehills International Negotiation Competition held in New Delhi. Mr. Tirth Bhatt also won the award for the Best Speaker at the event with a cash prize of Rs. 30,000. The team was up against Australian National University in the finals.The finals were judged by Hon;ble Mr. Justice SS Nijjar, Former Judge, Supreme Court of India, Mr. Chris Parsons, Chairman of India Practice at Herbert Smith Freehills, and Ms. Tejal Patil, Legal Counsel of a leading MNC. The competition was in the form of a negotiation competition involving negotiations on complex deals involving complex legal and business strategies. Other teams that took part in the competition included Cambridge University, University of Cologne, Germany, NLSIU Bangalore, NALSAR, NLU-Jodhpur etc. The team also received a cash prize of Rs. 50,000 and the runners up trophy
Swati Bisen and Ifrah Shaikh, second year students at GNLU, submitted their research paper on "The Civil liability for Nuclear Damages Act 2010- A detour from the international regime" for an International Conference on Economics and Business Administration which was organized by the International Economics Development and Research Center, Kuala Lampur, Malaysia.
The top research-papers were selected from about 16 different countries and regions during the submission period. The Authors were invited to present their papers at the conference held in Malaysia from 17th -18th January 2015. During the conference their research paper was adjudged as the best research paper and they was awarded a certificate for their achievement.
Esha Goel, a Final Year student at GNLU, submitted her research paper on 'Right to Privacy and Electronic Surveillance in India' at The Oxford India Research Paper Competition which is organized by the Oxford Alumni Association of India. The top ten research-paper authors were invited to present their papers at the Oxford India Summit, 2014 held in New Delhi. During the Summit Esha's research paper was adjudged as the second best research paper and she was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 10,000/- and a Medal for her achievement.
Esha found this to be an enriching experience as she got an opportunity to present her paper before eminent personalities who were present to adjudge the event and the Panel Discussions were quite engrossing. She suggests that students should take part in these activities more often, as it helps them in widening their outlook by getting to meet different people and offers an excellent networking opportunity for the law students.

GNLU team comprising of Maulika K Hegde, Ritambhara Narang and Swaraangi Shukla were adjudged as Winners of this moot court competition.
A team comprising of Shivansh Jolly (2012-2017), Sarthak Malhotra (2012-2017) and Advait Gohil (2011-2016) represented Gujarat National Law University at the 1st NUALS National Moot Court Competition on Maritime Law, which was held from 21st to 23rd March, 2014. The team reached the semi-finals in the said competition and was awarded the Best Memorial Award with a Trophy.
Devaditya Chakravarti of 5th year and I (Nirmal Mathew) of 1st year secured 2nd in the General Quiz at the National Fest, "Vibes" 2014 of Nirma University . More than 20 teams from all over India participated and the GNLU team secured 2nd and was awarded a trophy.
Nirmal Mathew of 2nd BA.LLB was awarded the position of High Commendation at the HLCC Model United Nations (Gujarat's Largest MUN) in collaboration with the United Nations?? Information Office India and Bhutan. He was part of this simulation of the UN in the General Assembly- Disarmament and International Security Committee where the agenda was the Disarmament of the Korean Peninsula and the Issue of Private Military Contractors & War Crimes.?? He represented the United Kingdom in this committee and was awarded this prize.
