About the Programme

Contemporary business environment has witnessed unprecedented complexities in terms of Institutions, Instruments and Regulations. With the large scale of integration across the globe, national and international regulatory framework continue to shape the destiny of the institutions. In view of this dynamism, creation of competence and skillset in the domain of financial management and business laws remain a major challenge.

With the objective of creation and dissemination of specialized knowledge and skills in the above disciplines, GNLU initiated a two year full time residential MBA (Financial Management and Business Laws) programme to nurture managerial and legal acumen of the participants. This programme aims to cater to the skill and human capital requirements of Indian and multinational corporations, investment and banking houses, public sector undertakings, regulatory authorities and international organizations, etc.

Contemporary business environment has witnessed unprecedented complexities in terms of Institutions, Instruments and Regulations. With the large scale of integration across the globe, national and international regulatory framework continue to shape the destiny of the institutions. Indian and Chinese economy have intertwined messages for the whole global business and economic community. The dynamic and unprecedented changes happening in the business and legal landscape of American, European and Asian economies call for prompt understanding of the business and legal issues in integrated manner. The Economic Crisis of 2008 in US and European markets, Rising Indian Growth Story, Chinese economic upheavals and the African Rise, can only be explained through an integrated business and law perspective. The micro issues and challenges posed by these big stories leave little time for institutions, let alone individuals, to prepare and effect timely response. A businessman without good legal knowledge or a lawyer without good business practices knowledge is doomed to be swept away in fraction of time. We are living in indeed a most unstable and unpredictable business and legal environment. There are certain issues and challenges which can be only resolved through legal actions only. In view of this dynamism, creation of competence and skillset in the domain of financial management and business laws remain a major challenge.

With the objective of creation and dissemination of specialized knowledge and skills in the above disciplines, GNLU initiated a two year full time residential MBA (Financial Management and Business Laws) programme to nurture managerial and legal acumen of the participants. This programme aims to cater to the skill and human capital requirements of Indian and multinational corporations, investment and banking houses, public sector undertakings, regulatory authorities and international organizations, etc.

The programme will be specifically suitable for students and young business executives who are searching for holistic integrated answers to their complex questions. Foreign students wiling to initiate businesses, import-export relations with India and Asian economies, advise companies in their own jurisdictions on legal and regulatory matters, learn alternative dispute resolutions to myriad of business disputes, acquire understanding of functional economies and businesses through practical experiences, network with actors and institutions of Indian and Asian economies, market and share success business-legal stories in a different environment, will have learning environment with fun and cultural experience. The programme will have business and legal Gurus from across the globe influencing your vision and thought process. Availability of excellent library facilities, case-studies will add on the knowledge base. We will also provide skills-training to make you master of networking, drafting, communication, etiquette which are extremely important in today’s globalized world. Most importantly, internship / training during the programme will equip you with very useful first-hand experience in understanding the real working of the business and law houses, public sector undertakings, governmental departments, MNCs, companies, big project management institutions of India.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The programme will be open to the graduates from any recognized university or institute with minimum qualification in/with commerce, management, law, arts, science and engineering except fine arts.
  • Only Candidates who have appeared at Common Admission Test (CAT) 2018 conducted by IIMs/CMAT 2019/MAT (2018-2019) are eligible to apply.
  • The candidate must hold a Bachelor's Degree, with at least 55% marks or equivalent CGPA (50% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) category) awarded by any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other Educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.
  • The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in the bachelor’s degree would be calculated based on the practice followed by the university/institution from where the candidate has obtained the degree. In case the candidates are awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the conversion of grades/CGPA to percentage of marks would be based on the procedure certified by the university/ institution from where they have obtained the bachelor’s degree. In case the university/ institution does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing the candidate’s CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the result with 100.
  • Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply. If selected, such candidates will be allowed to join the programme provisionally, only if she/he submits a certificate latest by October 01, 2019 from the Principal/Registrar of her/his College/Institute (issued on or before June 30, 2019) stating that the candidate has completed all the requirements for obtaining the bachelor’s degree/ equivalent qualification on the date of the issue of the certificate.
  • GNLU may verify eligibility at various stages of the selection process. Applicants should note that the mere fulfilment of minimum eligibility criteria will not ensure consideration for short listing by GNLU. Prospective candidates must maintain a valid and unique email account and a phone number throughout the selection process.
  • The admission to the said course will be primarily based on Common Admission Test 2018 (CAT 2018) conducted by IIMs/CMAT 2019/MAT (2018-2019) followed by group discussion and personal interview to be conducted by GNLU.
  • GNLU Academic Regulations and norms, as appropriate, will be applicable to the admitted students.
