GNLU is honoured and proud to host, as venue partner, the 2018 Special Olympics India. The Special Olympics will showcase the abilities of athletes with intellectual disabilities from 26 states of India and Union Territories. Promoting the ideals of acceptance and inclusion through sport and celebrating the transformative power of Special Olympics, the Game remains unique of its kind.
 
Shri J. P. Nadda, Hon'ble Union Cabinet Minister of Health and Family Welfare; Shri Nitin Patel, Hon'ble Deputy Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri I. Patel, Hon'ble Minister of Sports, Youth and Cultural Activities (Independent), will grace the occasion and enthuse the participants with spirit of sports and can-do. Senior Officials from the Sports Authority of India, Sports Authorities of various states of India, sports commentators, among others will join.

Sports personalities Parthiv Patel (Cricketer), Dhyana Patel (Chess Player), Tejasvini (Chess Players) will join too.

The Team of Tarak Mehta Ka Ulta Chasma (celebrated TV Serial) will also perform during the Celebration. 12 Channels will be showing the inauguration and it will also be shown in Chicago - US being the pioneer in Special Olympics.
