Policy Paper: India hosting the G-20 Summit
- The main focus of this paper is on India’s viability to host a G-20 Summit in the near future. It will address the process and mechanisms required for a nation to bid for hosting such an event. It will do so while analyzing India’s current or near-future capabilities of meeting such requirements. Since hosting of a G-20 Summit brings with it many benefits, this paper also seeks to highlight the benefits received by host nations in the past along with the unique benefits that India may stand to gain if such a summit were to be held. The paper addresses, inter alia, these issues in a question and answer format throughout.
