The GNLU Journal of Law, Development and Politics (GJLDP) is a peer-reviewed Biannual, interdisciplinary journal which focuses on law, development and politics. It is published by the Editorial Board of Gujarat National Law University and is administered by faculty and students of the University. The purpose of GJLDP is to provide our readers wide information on recent developments affecting laws, development and various political issues.

The Journal, like most academic publication, is peer-reviewed with ISSN serial publication No. 0975-0193 and is being published by Eastern Book Company (EBC). To uphold the quality and validity of individual articles and the overall integrity of the Journals the reviewing process is based on the anonymity of the author and the confidentiality of the reviewer's and editor's report.

The goals of the GJLDP
  • Promotion of development, politics and issues related to legal reforms
  • Critique of the legal system.
  • Monitoring developments in alternative practice.
  • Spreading legal education to various communities.

GJLDP is one of the two journals brought out by Gujarat National Law University. The Student Editors along with Faculty Editors and an Editor-in-Chief of GJLDP, research, edit, and cite check the submitted manuscripts. The Student Editors are chosen annually by the Faculty Editors of the Journal.

GJLDP receives substantial support and assistance from its Board of Advisors. The Board of Advisors is comprised of Judges of various Courts, Senior Advocates, Legal Practitioners and academicians around the country. The Board of Advisors advises the Board of Editors on issues relating to practice in the law field, the organization and dissemination of an academic legal publication, and the maintenance and development of relations in various areas of law.

As the first academic journal to look at the inter-disciplinary aspect between Law, Development and Politics, which are three value-loaded terms in themselves, we believe that it is the obligation of the academia to initiate discussion, analyze the various issues that are being faced by India and the world at large and propose a solution for the same. The first issue of GJLDP had articles from various academicians, advocates, bureaucrats, judges and newspaper columnists from within India and abroad.

The target audience for GJLDP are legal luminaries, professors of law and other related fields, academicians and students. The journal encourages contributions from all of them.
