GLIC declared results of an event, ‘National Film Making Competition on Entrepreneurship & Start-ups- 2018’

GNLU Legal Incubation Council (GLIC) declared results of an event, ‘National Film Making Competition on Entrepreneurship & Start-ups- 2018’ at Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar.

There were total three entries out of which two have been awarded. First prize winner is Mr Meet Trivedi of Capture pictures, Ahmedabad who submitted a video titled ‘A Dream’. He received cash prize of Rs 10,000/-, memento and certificate of merit. In this video, the story revolves around an entrepreneur and his dream to be the best of all. Going through ups and downs, finally he achieves success and film makes a happy ending. “Entrepreneurship is ultimately about paving your own path and achieving your own dreams” is what the video concludes and rightly was the theme of the competition, to highlight the entrepreneurship. 

The First runner up is, Mr Pankaj Jadhav from Mumbai. He received cash prize of Rs 7,500/-, memento and certificate of merit. It’s a story of two young ambitious boys looking to start organic food business. For finance, they approached bank and investors but both refused their proposals. The enthusiast didn’t lose hope and continued without any financial support and succeeded.

“Law Briefs launched its first eBook on Amazon Kindle”

On 14th February, 2019, Law Briefs launched and eBook titled 'The Landmark Corruption Trial in India' which is based on the famous disproportionate asset case of Former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Late Shri J. Jayalalithaa. The said eBook is available on Amazon Kindle. Mr Aditya Gor, student of Gujarat National Law University has been incubated at GNLU Legal Incubation Council (GLIC) under Student Startup and Innovation Policy (SSIP) scheme of Government of Gujarat since two years for his startup ‘Law Briefs’ ( ). It is a legal service platform that prepares case summaries of lengthy and difficult judgement. In order to make the understanding clear, Law Briefs divide the entire judgement into various parts which includes- Briefs and Facts and Procedural History, Issues before the Court, Arguments raised, Ratio and decision of the court. They also provide a quick introduction to the judgement in form of an introductory table which acts as a reference tool for lawyers.

The startup has also been awarded by Honorable CM Shri Vijay Rupaiji as one of the top 5 best student startups under SSIP Policy across the state in September 2018.

Law Briefs is at early revenue generation stage. It is planning to launch two more eBooks by the end of February 2019.

‘The Law Learners’- a startup by Devansh Saraswat, 3rd year BA LLB student from GNLU, won National Business Plan Competition.

Devansh Saraswat, 3rd year BA LLB student from GNLU, for his startup – ‘The Law Learners’ has won National Business Plan Competition Insight organized by NMIMS, Mumbai. 
Over 100+ participants from all over India participated at the competition, out of which top 6 made it to finale.

The Law Learners has been adjudged as Winner and received the Prize money of Rs 65,000/-

The Law Learners ( provides free online certificate courses in the domain of law. Not only this, but they conduct events and provide Internships for law students. 

His startup is at early revenue stage and have more than 2200 registrations overall. Devansh Saraswat is incubated at GNLU Legal Incubation Council (GLIC) for his startup under Student Startups and Innovation policy (SSIP) scheme.

GLIC organized 4th National B Plan Competition

On 16th February, 2019, at GNLU campus, GLIC organized 4th National B Plan Competition, Exuberance-2019 as a part to boost the startup ecosystem across India.

Total 19 Teams/Individuals participated and presented their ideas in front of judge’s panel. Each team was given 5 minutes for presenting and 2 minutes for question and answers by judges.

Innovative Ideas like which acts as mediator between customers and dhobis, Lensits- innovative NBFC, Jalaj Books- eBook publishing in the domain of law, SWC- providing ride, stay and food under one roof to travellers, SHoonya- Youtube music channel for aspiring singers and performers etc were presented in a full day event.

Judges for the event were Mr Jatin Chaudhary, Co-founder of eChaai, Mr Yash Shah, Co founder of and Mr Ankit Shah, CA and expert in financial domain. Mr U T Rao, Associate Professor and Chair of MICA Incubator and has co founded several startups in field of Media, Healthcare, technology and education, shared his kind presence as Chief Guest.
The idea who won the first prize was RegMaster, presented by Hatim Hussain, 4th Year Student, GNLU. The idea is to develop an easy to navigate, automatically updated, online tool to help Fintech firms understand, compare and keep track of changing regulations more easily, affordably and efficiently. He was provided by winner trophy, certificate of merit and will be rewarded by cash prize of Rs 25,000/-

Idea at second position was Miss EBS, presented by Bhumika Jaggi, Epil Gagrai and Shubhi Khantal from Madhya Pradesh. Idea was to solve problem of menstrual emergencies to prevent women from facing embarrassment. Team was provided by first runner-up trophy, certificate of merit and will be rewarded by cash prize of Rs 15,000/-

And the idea at third position was Agriore, by Anshu Kumar, currently pursuing MBA in financial management and business law from GNLU. Helping, supporting and educating farmers by agriculture experts using technology enabling farmers to produce the product which has high demand in market. He was provided by Second runner-up trophy, certificate of merit and will be rewarded by cash prize of Rs 10,000/-

Felicitation of winners and participants was done by Dr R K Singh, Dean, Faculty and Academic affairs.

SSIP FDP Faculty participants from all across Gujarat visited GLIC

Student Startup and Innovation Policy (SSIP), Government of Gujarat conducted Faculty Development Programme for Educational Institutions across Gujarat for setting up Incubation cell at their respective Institutes. The programme was conducted at EDII,Gandhinagar. During this event, the faculty participants visited GLIC centre to know the working of well-established Incubation centre. A brief introduction was given to them about the Physical set up, startup eco system at GNLU and variety of events carried out by GLIC frequently. Participants also get to know about the students currently incubated under the scheme and their working.

A Seminar on "Finance for Start-Ups", by Dr. Mahesh Chaudhary, Assistant Professor of Management, GNLU.

On 30 January, 2019, with the objective to outreach, sensitize and encourage students for entrepreneurial activities, knowledge in the domain of Finance, Student Startup and Innovation Policy (SSIP) in collaboration with GNLU Legal Incubation Council (GLIC) organized seminar on “Finance for Startups” at SSIP hub, KCG, Ahmedabad.

Dr. Mahesh Chaudhary delivered a two hour distinguished lecture on financial aspects, related to Start-Ups.

Participants from various Educational Institutes such as Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU), Government Polytechnic for Girls (GPG), Government Engineering College (GEC) Surat, LD college of Engineering and Dharmsinh Desai University attended the event.

Business Plan pitching for funding new start-ups 2018-19 held at GLIC

For funding new start-ups 2018-19 at GLIC, the pitching session was held on 19th September 2018. In kind presence of Honourable Director Sir, Prof (Dr) Bimal N. Patel as the jury member including Dr R. K. Singh, Dean, Academic Affairs, Dr Viral Pandya, Deputy Dean, Academic Affairs, Dr A. N. Rao, Assistant Professor of Social Work, Mr. Ankit Shah, C.A., Industry expert (external jury) and Mr. Yash Shah, Founder of, Industry expert (external jury) as many as 11 Business ideas were pitched by participants.

The participants were students and alumni of GNLU. Out of all business plans, after five hours of intense and interactive pitching session, 6 were selected for further funding process under Student Start-up and Innovation Policy (SSIP) scheme. The rest of the business proposals were motivated by the kind Jury to work more on idea and pitch in next session of funding.

Mr. Aditya Gor, 4th year student of law has been awarded by Honourable CM Shri Vijay Rupaniji as one of the top 5 best student early -stage start-ups under SSIP Policy across the state on 10th September 2018 at Gujarat University Convention Hall, GMDC Ground, Ahmedabad.

He has been incubated for his startup called a 'LawBriefs'- A legal service start up since October-2017 under GNLU Legal Incubation Council . It has been adjudged as the best start-up in various competitions and have a wide variety of happy clients including lawyers, academicians, professors, researchers, real estate agencies, competitive exam aspirants, etc.
