In pursuance to the on-going movement for the development of research work on legal history studies in India, the maiden edition of All India Legal History Congress was organised on 14-15 February 2020. The Congress was graced by Prof. (Dr.) V. S. Elizabeth (Vice-Chancellor, Tamil Nadu National Law University) as the Chief Guest and Prof. (Dr.) Kota Fukui (Professor, Graduate School of Law and Politics, Osaka University) as the Guest of Honour. The Congress saw the coming of students, scholars and dignitaries from across fields of specialisation in law and history to give stimulus to the deliberations in the sessions of the conference. The inauguration of All India Legal History Association was also declared in order to take the spirit of research and enquiry into the emerging domain of legal history forward in the country.
