Introduction

The Centre is dedicated to exploring the dynamic interplay between legal frameworks and various disciplines, fostering empirical and applied research that informs policy and practice. Its mission is to support and promote empirical and applied legal research, as well as interdisciplinary studies, enabling a scientific analysis of the underlying assumptions of the law, its application, and the impact of the legal system in real-world contexts. The Centre aims to advance empirical scholarship that enhances the theoretical understanding of legal systems while providing practical solutions to contemporary legal challenges. By collaborating with scholars, data analysts, practitioners, and community stakeholders, it seeks to address pressing legal issues and promote empirical solutions that contribute to the welfare of society.

Mission

The mission of the Centre is to support and foster empirical legal & interdisciplinary research, which can make it possible to scientifically analyse underlying assumptions of the law, the way in which the law is applied, and the impact of the law and the legal system in the real world.

Aims and Objectives
  • To empower empirical & interdisciplinary legal research at theoretical and methodological levels using qualitative and quantitative tools.
  • To generate rich, robust and real-time empirical data about law in society, legal institutions and courts for evidence led legal analysis.
  • To support practitioners, academicians and students who are interested in conducting empirical legal & interdisciplinary research through capacity building programs.
  • To conduct scientific and collaborative interdisciplinary research on law, policy and ethical issues to make a valuable contribution to the law making process and to legal practice.
